With both stocks, USGI fiberglass and Boyds' walnut, the lock up with the firing mechanism was perfect! The only nitpicky comments I have is that the left side of the receiver did not have all of the casting texture machined away and the left bolt roller lug recess wasn't machined as cleanly as I see on Springfield Armory, Inc. I also tried the barreled action in a USGI fiberglass stock. The bolt roller did not bottom out on the receiver with the bolt fully in battery. The customer supplied barrel read less than 0 for throat erosion using a BAD T-1 gauge. The operating rod was removed from the receiver with a reasonable amount of effort, not too tight and not too loose. The bolt and operating rod both passed the tilt test. The gas system was unitized and shimmed.Īll parts were clean and the appropriate parts lubricated with grease. Fulton Armory supplied most of the parts for the build.

Fulton Armory receivers from onward have the F prefix serial numbers. Note that Fulton Armory receivers made in and earlier have a FA prefix. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay at the range long enough to see him shoot it but I'm confident he had no problems with it. The owner was kind enough to give me an hour with it.
